For dog grooming businesses
You can’t groom a dog and answer the phone at the same time.
North Thistle has been building a booking-and-enquiry system around a real local groomer’s workflow — the missed calls, the confirmation chasing, the customer and dog records. A private demo is working now, and we’re asking groomers one question: would this actually help your business?
The reality
Heard while working with a local groomer.
The phone rings mid-groom. Your hands are in a coat. It rings out.
Enquiries arrive by phone, Facebook, WhatsApp and text — four places to check, all day.
“I’ll confirm tomorrow” — and a good slot sits held for days.
One booking takes a dozen back-and-forth messages.
Coat condition, skin notes, the dog’s history — scattered between a diary, a phone and memory.
No-shows cost real money that a small diary can’t absorb.
These are some of the problems we’ve been hearing. Not every groomer has all of them — which is exactly what we’re trying to find out.
Your diary stays yours
Automation that doesn’t hand your diary to strangers.
Most booking software lets anyone grab any open slot. The groomer we’ve been working with was clear that’s not how she runs her diary — some dogs need double slots, some clients need certain days, and she decides.
So the system is designed the other way round: it collects the enquiry and the dog’s details, suggests appropriate times, and keeps the groomer in control of the schedule — while the chasing, confirming and reminding is handled automatically.
Private demo
A working demo exists. Ask to see it.
We’ve built a private demo around a real groomer’s workflow, and we’re currently speaking to groomers across the trade to learn which problems repeat — and which parts would genuinely help.
- 15 minutes, in person or on a call
- Honest opinions wanted — including “that bit’s useless”
- No obligation, no pressure
Who’s behind this
A real company. A real founder. A real build.
North Thistle is a founder-led automation company from Scotland, working with independent businesses around Glasgow, Coatbridge and North Lanarkshire. The grooming system is one of our current builds — developed with a real local groomer, not invented in a boardroom.
